Why this set matters to Japanese-edition collectors

A card game is best when you can sit down and play it with someone you like. "Special Deck Set MEGA" is built for exactly that. It is a Japanese-edition product from the Pokémon Card Game MEGA series, announced on 16 October and listed for release in Japan on 13 November 2026.

The facts at a glance

  • Release in Japan: 13 November 2026
  • Listed price: ¥5,500 including tax (from one trade report; confirm on the official page)
  • Decks: Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Dragonite ex and Mega Gengar ex, with two Mega Evolution ex cards in each deck

What is in the box

  • Three ready-made decks: Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Dragonite ex and Mega Gengar ex. Each deck holds two Mega Evolution ex cards and includes Trainer cards shared across the three decks (Ultra Ball, Boss's Orders and Lillie's Determination, in their Japanese-edition names).
  • Each deck also includes a shiny (kira) version of its two lower-stage Pokémon.
  • Play goods: a play mat, three Pokémon coins, damage counters and markers, a rulebook, three player's guides, three paper deck cases, a paper damage-counter case and a card box.

Who it suits

  • New players who want a complete start without building a deck first.
  • Collectors who want to play the Japanese game rather than only keep cards sealed.
  • Gift buyers: three decks means a ready-made game for two or three people.

Japanese edition vs English edition: the short answer

This is a Japanese-edition product. Card text, set names and card numbering are in Japanese, and release timing in Japan differs from other regions. If you read Japanese, or enjoy collecting the original-language print, the Japanese edition is the version made for you. If you prefer to play in English, check the English-language range instead.
